"Gookinaid Sports Drink provided a most dramatic and welcome relief from my leg and foot muscle cramps. Evin, Mr. Gookin and everyone else: It's been more than twenty-five years since I've seen or tasted Gookinaid and I've missed it terribly. Formerly known by me as Gookinaid E.R.G. during my serious cycling years in Dayton, Ohio in the mid to late 70's, this excellent elixer was prominently displayed on the shelf at the bicycle shop where I turned wrenches and wheels and gears all day long. I probably drank more of the stuff than water considering all the riding I did. Whether it was my during the 7 mile trip to the shop from my off campus house or on one of the great 150 mile days around southwestern Ohio, the Gookinaid was always in my water bottle with an extra pack or two in my jersey pocket next to the bananas and bagels. I eventually left Dayton and returned to my home in Pittsburgh frequently lamenting the loss of my favorite drink which no one back home had ever heard of. And then, during this year's family vacation, I found the long lost juice of my youth at the trading post located at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon on June 30, 2006. (Yep, it's that memorable a day!). There it was, in all its Gookin' glory, just as I remembered it. Sure, the E.R.G. denomination was gone, but the same great product was still there. Of course, my boys, 15 and 12, were rolling their eyes and moaning at Dad's rantings about, "This is the greatest stuff in the world! It'll be perfect for your soccer practices and games and your lacrosse practices and games! It's great for cycling! It tastes really good and immediately quenches your thirst! It's not sickeningly sweet like the "sports drinks"! It's been around as long as I have!!!!! Yeah, they knew Overly-Excited Dad was at his ranting best again. "I live in Pahrump Nevada and work outdoors. The average temperture during the summer is 112* but it is not uncommon for the temp to reach the 120s at times. I used to drink the other sports drinks until my neighbor gave me a cannister of the Hydralyte. The other sports drinks would leave me feeling fatigued in the mid day heat but the Hydralyte kept me feeling refreshed and alert. I no longer use the other drinks, even though I have to order the Hydralyte Sports Drink and have it shipped to me as the nearest store that carries it is over 65 miles away. "Turn the hands of time back to 1975 and go to Boulder Colorado. I was playing racket ball 3 times a week at the YMCA in Boulder 1 hour each session. Thirsty?? I was 225 lbs and very agile for a guy my size - one problem, moving that much body quickly around the court generated a lot of sweat, there were times I could wring out my shirt and get nearly a full cup of sweat. Drinking water was out of the question, Gator Aid was available but, far too sweet. I happened to drop into a sports shop in Boulder and there was this stuff, a powder, labeled Gookinaid ERG, so I read the label and decided to try it. I made a gallon and took a collapsable quart container into the court with me and left it in the back corner on the floor. During that game I made a point of gulping down the drink to see if I would get cramps from the fluid in my stomach. Try as I might, I never got ANY cramps from ERG. Bob Gookin is a chemical genius. "Hello, Last year my husband and I hiked the Grand Canyon. We went all the way to the bottom and camped. We have done it before, my husband always does great, but I have struggled in the past during the climb up, usaully the last 3 miles. This time we purchased your product at the market in the Grand Canyon. I could not belive how good I felt hiking down! No cramping, I never felt like I was fatiguing. The problem is that we only purchased enough for the hike down. To our surprise our bagged sack lunches that were preordered at Phantom Ranch contained the Fruit Punch packets of GOOKINAID. 2 days later we set off for the climb up. I had my resevoir filled with the gookinaid. I felt strong the entire climb up! Those last 3 miles, yes they were hard, but I tell you, I never skipped a beat! I even set the pace for a while! The great thing is, from my past expierences hiking the canyon, my recovery has taken time. I would be sore for days! REALLY sore! I did not feel that this time. I found that when I drank water during competitions that I could never compete at my best. I was always a little slow and imprecise. When I started drinking Gookinaid I found that my reactions where faster, my point more precise, and I felt like I had a great deal more energy. In my first Word Cup Victory I was in Puerto Rico during the summer. Outside it was 96 degrees plus and inside much hotter. The gym we competed in did not have any air conditioning. I kept drinking Gookinaid (about 1 liter every hour) and eating light food. At the end of the day everyone else fenced like they had run out of gas. While I was tired Gookinaid gave me the energy to come back from a 12-8 deficit to win 15-14. If I had only been drinking water or other sports drinks I could never have made the comeback to win. To train for the 2004 Olympics my team went to the southern California desert to train. I tried just drinking water or other sports drinks but I never felt hydrated. When I used Gookinaid, I could complete all the activities with renewed vigor. I never felt hydrated in the desert until I used Gookinaid. The best thing about Gookinaid is that it helps me weather I am competing, training, resting or traveling. Fencing requires long plane flights to Europe, Middle East, or South America . Drinking Gookinaid on the flight ensured that I felt more rested when I arrived and adjusted more quickly to the time difference. The pleasant taste ensures that I keep drinking and that I stay hydrated regardless of where I am.

Recently, I had abdominal surgery for an abdominal obstruction. Last week, when I attempted to eat solid food I developed severe nausea and vomited over 20 times during the course of a night. I have been rescued and literally brought back to life numerous times thanks to Gookinaid. I was diagnosed with Addison's disease four years ago and Im anemic. Before this diagnosis I was told I had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. My exhausted adrenal glands were causing my severe fatigue. If I get an infection or the flu this really throws off my electrolytes. I hope to help others discover the benefits of Gookinaid . In Canada as well as the USA it appears to be very difficult to diagnose Addison's disease. Doctors don't seem to check your adrenal glands. Big thanks to Dr. Carol Ann Ryser in Kansas City , Missouri at the Health Centers of America who strongly recommended your product and has treated me very well. I was truly blessed. I was wondering if you will be introducing a Gookinaid product for those who have sugar sensitivities?
